Facebook Dynamic Product Ads available in DataFeedWatch

Facebook is growing rapidly as a shopping channel for merchants. Of course, DataFeedWatch enables users to create and optimize feeds for this channel. Here’s how:

Facebook Dynamic Product Ads allow user to:

  • Automatically generate Facebook Ads based on product feed and an ad template
  • Show specific product ads based on what users have viewed on your website

Ad types compatible with Dynamic Product Ads include:

  • Desktop News Feed Ads
  • Mobile News Feed Ads
  • Feature Phone Ads
  • Righ Column Ads

In the process of creating the ad you can add dynamic fields that will use the values from the feed. It could look something like this:

Launching dynamic product ads requires uploading a product feed and implementing Conversion-Tracking Pixel.

Creating Facebook Product Ads feed

The feed is very similar to Google Shopping feed. The main differences are:

  • categories are not required,
  • it has less optional fields (e.g. there are no custom labels),
  • unique identifiers like mpn or gtin are not required

Uploading the feed to Facebook

In order to upload the feed to Facebook you need to:

  1. Create a FBM account (Facebook business manager) account.
  2. In the account go to Settings > Product Catalogs > Add New Product Catalog Ad new product catalog
  3. In the Product Catalog click Add Product Feed add new facebook product feed
  4. Provide Feed Name, select Auto upload through URL, copy Feed URL from DataFeedWatch and set upload frequency set up facebook product feed scheduling
  5. Click Schedule button

Facebook Dynamic Product Ads can be an interesting channel and definitely one worth trying out. The strongest benefit is  a very detailed targeting system which can lend itself well to achieving a high ROI. If you happen to use it already, please share your experience in the comments.

    Hey guys. This is awesome (I hope) I’m a customer of your and was thinking why don’t these guys do this? I have just got mine running and this post lacks detail as to what data feed will take care of…eg currently I’m using a cpm buy through Facebook. Will data feed watch take over the account! Optimising like the Google shopping feed? Really keen to hear more.

    Hey Nick. DataFeedWatch will not take care of any setting or bidding management in your Facebook account. Our job is to provide a data feed in a proper format that Facebook would accept. That being said you can always purchase a feed set-up service which covers mapping the feed and uploading it to Facebook.

    Hey Mateusz, thanks for the quick response. When I go to add the Facebook feed. I note you do not have a drop down for Australia. I do see it available if I select US as a country. I currently running a dynamic campaign at the moment in Australia so know it’s available. I would like to keep all my feed data in the one place. Can you or someone please add the Australia Facebook ads drop down. Cheers, Nick

    I got the feed setup but couldn’t get the ad setup in Power Editor at the time. Let me see if that option is available for me now so I can test them out.
